Introduction & Objectives

Ribbon of Hope CSR (ROH CSR) is a CSR program under the Ribbon of Hope (ROH).

Objectives

Alleviate Financial Burden: Provide B40 cancer patients with free rehabilitation equipment rentals and subsidized daily essential care supplies.
Drive Early Detection: Advocate for early cancer screening by funding and executing awareness campaigns and screening projects under the BCG brand, in collaboration with strategic external partners.
Empower Cancer Support Networks: Partner with and raise funds for external organizations dedicated to advancing cancer education, patient care, and community support.

Impact & Execution

The Cancer-Care CSR program is executed through a structured verification and support process managed by the Sustainability and Rehab Support teams. Once approved, beneficiaries receive a Ribbon of Hope Care Pack and digital coupons for oncology-related products. For those needing high-cost mobility aids, the program offers free rehab equipment rental (e.g., hospital beds, wheelchairs) at designated satellite stores, with logistics costs like delivery covered by the BIG CARiNG Foundation.

This initiative provides substantial financial relief and improves the quality of life for underprivileged cancer patients. Fixed-duration subsidies reduce immediate financial burden during the critical transition from hospital to home. More than just financial aid, the program establishes the group as a compassionate community partner, ensuring access to essential medical tools for pain reduction and independence.

Driven by a shared vision to combat cancer holistically, Ribbon of Hope (ROH) has cultivated deep, impactful collaborations with Malaysia’s leading cancer-focused NGOs and CSR bodies, including the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), the Colorectal Cancer Survivor Support Group Malaysia (CORUM), and the National Cancer Council (MAKNA).

Together, these synergies bridge the gap between awareness and action. By pooling resources and expertise, we have successfully rolled out nationwide early screening clinics, high-impact public awareness campaigns, and targeted fundraising drives. These collaborative efforts ensure that critical cancer education reaches the masses, while high-risk individuals in underserved communities gain immediate access to lifesaving early detection services.

Under the “Rehabilitation & Recovery” pillar, the Ribbon of Hope program lowers home-care costs for cancer patients through free or highly subsidized medical equipment rentals. Instead of buying expensive machinery, families can borrow vital recovery tools like wheelchairs, hospital beds, walking aids, and oxygen concentrators.

Additionally, the program provides Cancer Care Packs and exclusive discount coupons. These vouchers grant steep savings on equipment purchases, specialized nutritional supplements, and skincare products for therapy side effects.

Available at selected flagship pharmacies, these perks provide immediate financial relief during home recovery.
